TMT TECHNOLOGIES

TMT : TMT stands for Thermo Mechanically Treated Bars. The TMT bars have a hard outer surface and a softer core. Their manufacturing process includes hot rolled steel wires passed through water in controlled temperature and water pressure. This makes the surface hard and keeps the core warmer and softer.Three major stages of conversion of steel billets into Indrola TMT bars are

Quenching

  • When a hot rolled bar leaves the final mill stand, It is ihstantaneously quenched using a special water spray system in the quenching box to harden the surface while the core still remains hot Elare| austenitic.

Self Tampering

  • After leaving the quenching box, the core continues to supply heat to the surface since it is relatively at a higher temperature. This causes the tempering of the outer martensitic layer into a structure called Tampered Martensite. The core stays austenitic at this stage also.

Atmospheric Cooling

  • The Bar leaving the finishing mill is passed to he special cooling bed where the austenitic core gets transformed into a ductile ferrite pearlite structure. The final structure, thus is a_ perfect combination of a strong outside layer (tempered martensite) with a ductile core (ferrite and pearlite). The composite micro-structure is primarily responsible for the combination of contradictory metallurgical properties of high strength and ductility of Indrola TMT Bars.

Testing

Our final product under goes several testing processes to ensure that the best product is delivered to our customers. We analyse, scrutinize our products in various stages of our manufacturing process to meet our quality standard. The foundation of our business is based on quality, performance and customer service. Our state-of-art laboratory help.us to test quality of the bars produced in our production unit. Our testing team
work tirelessly to analyse proof stress, ultimate stress. elongation, bending, Re-bending, cup formation, cone formation and transverse cracks to ensure high quality is delivered. We have in house facilities to deliver the best steel you are looking for, tested to meet quality standards.

Product Ranges​

INDROLA TMT steel bars are available in Grade Fe500, Fe500D, Fe550, Fe 550D in sized ranging from 6mm to 25mm.

Design Structures

We Indrola believe in technology, we are better equipped with state of art rib cutting and notching machines to groove the structure of TMT ribs with the help of CNC machining technologies.
